Kelci Martinsen grew up in the town of Simcoe, Ontario, Canada. As a young girl, she avidly read anything relating to classical history and loved spending her time in the water of Lake Erie. She completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Archaeology at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. She has currently completed all course work for her Master of Arts Degree in Maritime Studies at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, USA and is looking forward to defending her thesis in 2016.
